Miller Case Update

Lafayette County held court on April 6, 2024 and Brandon Glenn Lane, 50, of Texarkana appeared before Judge Carlton Jones.  Lane was charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death. Just a review of  the events follow:

  • -March 9, 2023 Brandon Lane hit Joseph Miller of Lewisville on Hwy 82 by Bodcaw Creek and left the scene of the accident.
  • -March 10-11, 2023 a BOLO was put out for a Toyota Rav4
  • -March 13, 2023 the vehicle that was driven by Lane was located in Texarkana, Texas.
  • -December 7, 2023 Lane was walked into the Lafayette County Jail and served his warrant and was released on a $150,000 bond.
  • -April 5, 2024 Lane agreed to a plea of 10 years probation and a $1000 fine.

Miller’s wife, Barbara Clark, was outraged by the sentence. She stated “They sold slaves for more than $1000 back on the day.  His life was only worth $1000.”  According to court documents they took into consideration that Lane was a first time offender.
