The Lafayette County High School Band has created history today at the Little Rock Capital, during the Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM) event. March is the month that has been officially designated by the National Association of Music Education for observance in schools. This program predominantly caters to Arkansas school choral. The Music Director, Lindsey Points, wanted to expand music education by rewarding band directors and band students across the nation. As a result, she and the Cougar band were selected to participate in a ceremony. The Cougar band made its place in the history books by being the first-ever band to perform at the capital in recognition of the program. They will receive an official certificate in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to 5GNEWS for updates.
